Europe-S.E Asia Music Course & Competition (supported by EUYO/EU)

Date: 2 May, 2020 - 9 May, 2020 , 9.00am
Location: Yangon, Myanmar

With the support of the EU Delegation to Myanmar and the Goethe Institut, the Orchestra for Myanmar brings alumni teaching staff from the world-class European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) to Yangon for an intensive music course consisting of workshops, masterclasses, orchestral rehearsals, competition, chamber recitals, and ending with a Grand Final concert on the occasion of Europe Day in the presence of Ambassadors, VIPs, the media and a public audience at the historic Strand Hall.

Aimed at talented string students who would normally travel to Europe or the USA to attend music camps with high calibre teaching, the event brings the renowned teaching and performing expertise of the EUYO to Asia at a much lower cost to the student. The course has been specially designed for students who wish to improve their orchestral skills, gain solo performing experience, work on audition excerpts, prepare for exams or concerts, experience the possibility of playing side by side with high quality European musicians, or simply experience taking part in our competition. Students will learn with EUYO Alumni teachers during the week and play side by side with them in the final performance.
